Sonia Sotomayor
Sonia Sotomayor nació en el Bronx, Nueva York. Obtuvo su licenciatura en Humanidades de la Universidad de Princeton y se graduó como Doctora en Jurisprudencia de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Yale. Trabajó como Asistente Fiscal del Distrito en el Condado de Nueva York y, posteriormente, se unió a la firma de abogados Pavia & Harcourt como abogada litigante. En 1991, fue nominada por el presidente George H.W. Bush para el Tribunal del Distrito Sur de Nueva York. En 1997, el presidente William Jefferson Clinton la nominó para la Corte de Apelaciones del Segundo Circuito. El presidente Barack Obama la nominó para el cargo de Jueza Asociada del Tribunal Supremo de Justicia el 26 de mayo de 2009, convirtiéndose en la primera latina en ocupar un cargo de tal relevancia. Es la autora del libro Mi mundo adorado y The Beloved World of Sonia Sotomayor.
Lulu Delacre ha estado escribiendo e ilustrando libros infantiles desde 1980. Nacida y criada en Puerto Rico, de padres argentinos, Delacre ha recibido tres menciones honoríficas Pura Belpré por su trabajo. Descubriendo el bosque nublado. Delacre ha dado conferencias a nivel internacional y ha sido jurado para el premio National Book Award.
