Steve Barlow

Steve Barlow (Author)

Steve Barlow, as one half of the duo “2Steves,” has co-authored over 250 books with Steve Skidmore since their collaboration began in 1988. Born in Crewe, his education included Crewe Grammar School, Warwick University, and Nottingham University. Barlow’s diverse career path has included roles in teaching, acting, stage management, and puppetry. He spent four years teaching in a village school in Botswana before returning to the UK. The “Two Steves” have toured extensively both domestically and internationally, participating in major book festivals such as Edinburgh and Hay.

Steve Skidmore (Author)

Steve Skidmore, alongside Steve Barlow, forms “The 2 Steves,” recognized as Britain’s leading comedy writing and performing double act for young audiences. He hails from Birstall, near Leicester. Skidmore pursued an English degree at Nottingham University, though he dedicated significant time to sports and various jobs, including one that involved counting pastry pie lids. He trained as a teacher of Drama, English, and Film before embarking on a full-time author career with Steve Barlow. Skidmore resides in Leicester and is an enthusiastic rugby supporter.

Wendy Tan (Illustrator)

Wendy Tan is a Chinese-Malaysian artist, born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her lifelong passion for drawing intensified during her high school years. Tan holds a Diploma in Multimedia Design from Saito College. Her deep interest in storytelling was ignited by film and animation, leading her to work as a storyboard and visual development artist within the Malaysian animation industry. Tan utilizes illustration as her primary medium for storytelling, frequently employing dramatic use of color and light to convey her narratives.
