About The Author
Steve Gallant
Steven Gallant was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Barrie Jackson in 2005 and transferred to HMP Frankland in 2006. Whilst in prison Steven vowed to never commit violence again, teaching himself how to write, educating himself and completing a business degree at Oxford Brookes University. At an open prison event at Fishmongers’ Hall, he witnessed the murders of Jack Merritt and Saskia Jones, and fought Usman Khan, subduing him on London Bridge. He was granted a Royal Prerogative of Mercy by the Queen and released from prison in August 2021. In March 2023 Steve was awarded a Queen’s Gallantry Medal in recognition of his heroic actions at London Bridge.
