What They're Saying

Critics Review

“Ten Questions to Ask My Doctor about My Breast Cancer provides a patient-centered overview of the key clinical decisions encountered in early breast cancer and is framed around the common questions people have. It is practical, balanced, and written in a clear and non-technical style, helping readers navigate treatment decisions and make informed choices.” - Jennifer M. Jones, PhD, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, UHN

“The authors provide authoritative, up to date, and clearly explained information that will be invaluable to women diagnosed with early-stage breast malignancy. Women who read this book, focusing on the sections most relevant to their situation, will have an enhanced appreciation of what questions to ask their physicians, and they will be optimally prepared to make sound decisions regarding treatment.” - Andrew M. Kaunitz, MD, University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville

“An outstanding, patient-centered overview of breast cancer, thoughtfully explaining diagnosis, treatment options, and what to expect along the way. Information is presented in a way that is both accessible and reassuring without oversimplifying complex topics. The book also anticipates and addresses many of the most common questions and concerns patients have, making it an invaluable resource for those navigating a new diagnosis.” - Jennifer Leigh, MD, Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre

“Drs. Narod and Jerzak tackle the most controversial and commonly asked questions about breast cancer with clarity and honesty by using evidence where it is available, while also taking care to consider the quality of that evidence. This is a must-read for all affected by breast cancer or DCIS who want to make the most informed decisions about their care. It is also highly recommended for professionals working in the field to better understand where evidence is lacking and where more studies need to be done.” - Marc Tischkowitz, MD, University of Cambridge

“Finally, a thoughtful dictionary to allow patients to speak the same language as their oncology team and better engage in meaningful treatment discussion. This beautifully summarizes the breast cancer treatment algorithm and the nuances for each fork in the road. In a sea of information available to patients, this clearly differentiate between truth and myth. I would recommend this to all patients and families navigating a breast cancer diagnosis.” - William Raskin, MD, FRCPC, William Osler Health System
