Sue Black
Professor Dame Sue Black is a world-leading anatomist and forensic anthropologist. She also holds the position of Pro-Vice Chancellor for Engagement at Lancaster University.
Her expertise has been instrumental in significant investigations. She served as the lead anthropologist for the British Forensic Team in war crimes investigations in Kosovo. Furthermore, she was among the first forensic scientists to travel to Thailand after the Indian Ocean tsunami to aid in the identification of the deceased.
Dame Sue is a prominent figure in the media, with documentaries having been filmed about her work. She also led the successful BBC 2 series History Cold Case.
In recognition of her contributions to forensic anthropology, she was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 2016 Queen’s Birthday Honours.
She is the author of the critically acclaimed Sunday Times bestseller All That Remains.
