Suzy Kline
Suzy Kline is the author of nineteen Horrible Harry books and four books about Song Lee. She lives in Willington, Connecticut, with her husband, Rufus. They have been married for thirty-eight years.
Suzy grew up in Berkeley, California, and Rufus grew up in Sacramento, California. They met at the University of California, Davis, campus while Suzy was attending for a year. Suzy graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in European history. After getting married, they lived in various places, including Canada, before settling in Connecticut.
Before retiring, Suzy taught 5th and 6th grades at Shannon Elementary School in Richmond, California, for three years. She also taught 2nd and 3rd grades at Southwest Elementary School in Torrington, Connecticut, for twenty-four years. She now enjoys writing full-time and visiting schools and libraries.
Suzy and Rufus share their home with two cats, Teeter and Hoag. They have two daughters, Jennifer and Emily, and four grandchildren: Jake, Kenna, Gabby, and Saylor. A fifth grandchild was due in September 2006. Suzy’s mother recently turned ninety-six, and Suzy dedicated her most recent book, Horrible Harry Takes the Cake, to her.
Suzy and Rufus enjoy attending UConn football and basketball games. Suzy also uses the UConn library for research for her writing.
