About Sylvain Runberg
Born in 1971, Sylvain Runberg grew up devouring Franco-Belgian and American comics, alongside the first wave of Japanese anime. This early immersion fueled a lifelong passion for the medium and for crafting compelling stories with universal appeal. He currently divides his time between France and Sweden.
Since embarking on his professional career in 2004, Sylvain has authored an impressive 160 graphic novels. These works have been translated into 26 languages and have achieved global sales exceeding 3 million copies. His extensive bibliography includes the popular ORBITAL series, WONDER WOMAN & HARLEY QUINN, SUPERMAN, WARSHIP JOLLY ROGER, projects based on Edmond Hamilton, and Toei Animation’s CAPTAIN FUTURE. He has also adapted Stieg Larson’s THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, and worked on titles such as CONAN, WATCH DOGS: LEGION, UNDER YORK, KONUNGAR, and ZAROFF. ON MARS marked his initial collaboration with Grun, and they have since partnered on other projects, including the recent SPACE RELIC HUNTERS.
Beyond his prolific work in graphic novels, Sylvain has also made his mark in the television industry, creating five distinct TV series. His current endeavors extend to the realm of video games, where he is involved in narrative design for several projects, including the adaptation of “WARSHIP JOLLY ROGER” by Proxima Studios. Furthermore, he is a co-founder of Dark Riviera, an international 360 IP boutique headquartered in Stockholm.
About Grun
Born Ludovic Dubois in France in 1971, Grun developed a fascination with American comic books from a young age. The discovery of Moebius’s work solidified his ambition to become a full-time illustrator. He graduated with honors from the Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux and initially focused on designing for nature magazines while also exploring short comic strips.
His career path led him to the video game company Kalisto, where he worked as a concept artist and designer. While these roles were creatively stimulating, his true passion remained comics. This led him to collaborate with comic writer Eric Corbeyran (No Future), with whom he co-created his first complete comic series, THE OPAL CONSPIRACY, in 2005. Following the success of METRONOM and other projects, he met Sylvain Runberg, initiating their fruitful partnership that began with ON MARS. These collaborations have cemented Grun’s reputation as one of the most respected artists in the world of comics.
