About The Author

Tamlyn Teow

Tamlyn is an artist, illustrator, and props designer. She migrated to Australia at the age of 13 and left a corporate career in 2013 to pursue her passion for storytelling through art. Tamlyn strives to create works that offer hope during difficult times, ignite curiosity, and unite people by illuminating truth and meaning.

In 2017, she earned a Masters in Production Design from the Victorian College of the Arts. Since then, Tamlyn has contributed to the art departments of various film and television productions, including The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, Territory (Netflix), Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Peter Rabbit 2, Shang-Chi (Marvel Studios), and North Shore.

Her other projects include co-designing and art-finishing the David Jones Christmas Windows for MacGyver Models (2017-2023), as well as freelance illustration and sculpture commissions. Tamlyn has illustrated several picture books, such as The Other Side of the Clouds (2024, Riveted Press), and also designs book covers and illustrates chapter books.

SoXiety marks her debut as an author and illustrator, and it is the first installment in an innovative series of nearly wordless graphic novel-style picture books for teens and adults, titled The Book of Kin.
