Critics Review
“Darkening Land shares a Cherokee tale of an errant warrior sent to the place of the dead, and his return to healing and living. The poetry collection exudes humility and humor, horror and kindness. It is a manifestation of the worst and best of our humanity.“—Sean Teuton, author of Native American Literature: A Very Short Introduction
“I am impressed with fellow Marine and writer Tom Holm’s collection of poems about that time and place that we have both known. Holm deeply honors our fellow gyrenes better than any other writer. I highly recommend Darkening Land as a work of strength and dignity.“—Geary Hobson, author of The Road Where the People Cried
